Watching it Back (my bachelor fantasy suites I mean)
This past Monday the Bachelor Mansion Renovation episode aired, which was a pretty surreal one for me.
Not just because we were back at the mansion, but because that place represents a really strange, unexpected chapter of my life.
A few years ago I walked through those gates for the first time with no clue what I was walking into. I definitely didn’t think it would lead to friendships that I still have today, opportunities I never imagined, or projects like the one we just filmed.
Looking back on it now, it’s wild to see how much life has changed since then.
And at the same time… a lot of the relationships that came out of that experience are still very much a part of my life. That’s probably the thing I’m most thankful for. Reality TV is a weird world, but the friendships and connections that came out of it have been very real.
To celebrate the episode airing, and honestly just for a good laugh, Tate and I decided to sit down and watch one of the most infamous episodes from my season... The Fantasy Suites episode.
There’s something hilarious and strange about watching something from years ago with someone who wasn’t in your life yet. Tate had a lot of questions. I had a lot of explaining to do.
But it was also a reminder of how much life has moved forward since then.
Now instead of showing up to the mansion as a contestant, we were there for a completely different reason.
Working on the house itself.
That part felt pretty full circle. The show airs every Monday on HGTV at 8pm (highly recommend checking it out) !!
The whole experience was a lot of fun. Getting to work on the property, be back in that environment, and do it with people I genuinely enjoy being around made it feel very different than the first time I stepped foot there.
Life has a funny way of bringing things back around.
And sometimes the best way to appreciate that is just to sit down, watch it back, and laugh a little.
Watching that old episode with Tate was chaotic in the best way. I’m not sure she expected it to be quite that entertaining… but I think she got a pretty good crash course in Bachelor history.
Either way, it made for a pretty funny night.
And if you caught the renovation episode this week, I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did making it.
Pretty wild to think it all started with one limo ride.
Love,
Tyler
